This policy explains what personal information Robin collects, why we use it, who we share it with, and what your rights are. We've tried to write it plainly.
Who we are
Robin is a service operated by Ben Anthoney, working with families in Clapham, Wandsworth and the surrounding area to help protect elderly relatives from scams. We're the "data controller" of the personal information you share with us.

What information we collect
When you visit caringrobin.com
- Cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising (see our Cookies policy).
- Pages visited, browser type, and approximate location (from your IP address).
When you book a call or get in touch
- Your name and email address.
- Any details you share with us about your family situation.
When you become a customer
- Your name, email, phone number, and payment details (card details are processed and stored by Stripe, not us).
- Your elderly relative's name, contact details, address (if relevant), and a chosen "safe-word".
- Notes from our fortnightly protection calls and any hotline calls, including anything they choose to share with us.
- If a scam incident happens, the information we need to help you respond (transaction details, scammer information, communications).
Why we use it
- To deliver the Robin service to you (legal basis: contract).
- To send you call summaries and alerts (legal basis: contract).
- To respond to enquiries (legal basis: legitimate interest).
- To improve our service and to run ads to families like yours (legal basis: legitimate interest; you can object).
- To meet legal obligations like tax record-keeping (legal basis: legal obligation).
Who we share it with
We share information only with people and tools that help us deliver Robin:
- Stripe: payment processing.
- Cal.com: booking system.
- Google Workspace: email.
- Meta: for advertising analytics (see our Cookies policy).
- Google Maps: to show the interactive coverage map (loaded only after you accept cookies).
- PostHog: product analytics (session recordings, heatmaps) to understand how visitors use the site. EU-hosted. Loaded only after you accept cookies.
- Action Fraud, banks, and other providers: only with your consent, when responding to a scam incident on your behalf.
We don't sell your information.
How long we keep it
- Customer records: while you're a customer, plus 6 years afterwards for accounting and tax reasons.
- Check-in notes: while you're a customer; deleted within 30 days of cancellation unless we're required to keep them by law.
- Enquiry emails from people who don't become customers: deleted within 12 months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
- Ask us to delete your data (subject to some legal exceptions).
- Object to how we process your data.
- Withdraw consent (for example, for marketing emails) at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email ben@caringrobin.com. We'll respond within one month.
If you're not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as Robin grows. Significant changes will be notified by email if you're a customer.
